FROM THE BAQUET
After months of preparation and hard work had arrived the day, in this case a 19 of June, that would do my so expected and dreamed debut in this sport that more than fans is a passion!.
The Rallye began however, the previous week, when with my codriver were to write the pacenotes of the special stages. During the week of the Rallye did not invade me the nerves in any moment, but fifteen minutes before to go up to the podium exit, then they arrive, although surprisingly (even for me) with very low intensity, in such a way that when we arrived to the first special stage, CANYET, have banished!.
Went out with a lot of caution as we planned, but in a very dirty left corner, after some kilometers, the first fright: we spun!. We finished the stretch and without rest expects us SANT GRAU; here all goes better and, although I'm feeling slow to the rise, we finished the stretch without taking risks.
After we went trough the super-special, where without a lot to win, we did one of the slowest time!. First loop finished with the car in good conditions, and the mechanics expect us in RIUDELLOTS for the service.
The second turn through CANYET there were much better (easy on the other hand), going very slowly on the left bend (a lot of people has imitated us) and we made a good time. Full of good sensations we went to SANT GRAU in the aim to reduce time, but now it would be impossible; the stage remains neutralized due an accident of the car nº.23. When we arrived to the place of the accident we were very frigthened!.
The next stretch goes back to the "damned" super-special, and after diretcly to RIUDELLOTS as we have a PARC FERMÉ to finalize the eaarly sections. There we spoke with drivers of Regularity Sport and said that the time that had to do to the special, was a litle slower that we!.
In the afternoon will do the stretches of ELS ÀNGELS and SANTA PELLAIA, a double way!. At the time to go out to the first stretch begins to fall a litle rain, luckily for us will not go to more. We took the exit and after some kilometers we find more comfortable, the descent is spectacular and without knowing it made an negligible time (23rd. scratch) and we substracted 25 seconds to the first of ours rivals of class!. SANTA PELLAIA also goes us quite well, keeping the rhythm, go back to be the first and also 7 seconds more!. Without being conscious already we go first of class; but still they remain two stretches and the worst of all is that the weather goes worse!.
We did the service, and during the twenty minutes we took the decision to change tires: in ELS ÀNGELS already rains!. I'm not sure to do the change, knowing that if stop raining we can lose all that we have won in the first kilometers, anyway is the wisest since in the stretch is raining wery hard!.
Being quite pessimistic we arrived to ELS ÀNGELS; we will do what we can, looking to lose the lower possible time, we risked a bit to the descent and when we arrived we see that our time is not so bad: (19rd. scratch), seeing in the way some cars with problems, one of them ours more direct rival!.
Before going in in the last stretch, we spoke with the mates and one of them signals me that we have a puncture!. As spare tyre we have a slick, so we do the best!.
We finished without any risk. First rallye finished; that was the main objective, and besides we have remained in a very good position, helped also by an end of Rallye a bit crazy!.
Now we expect the Rallye OSONA and its mythical special stages in fifteen days. Dont miss the appointment!.
